Hello,
My name is Sarah and i will be coming to Darjeeling toward the middle of April. I would
like to try a trek. I will only have a few day to do this, so i am wondering if you
could suggest good tour guides and the possibility of joining a group trek. I will be
by myself and have not trekked before, therefore i would like to go in a group.
Thank-you for your help,
Sarah

Hello,

I would like to organise a trek for 3 adults before I arrive in Darjeeling in April. I
would like a short trek to Sandakphu - ??? - Rikim and would like to camp rather than
stay in guesthouses.

I would like a guide and porter. Could you send me some prices?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Georgina

where did that deepsea disappear?
he was a guide/owner for many years - to my knowledge he would be the best to help these folks out.

If you are a backpacker type, then you might want to try out the staff at the Darj. Youth Hostel on top of Dr. Zakir Hussain Road. They rent out some trekking gears as well as help you find guide or other trekkers who might be looking out for someone to go along with and they dont charge you for it. But you need to keep a buffer of 3-4 days for it to work. The YH has a trekkers comment book which is a huge volume with trekkers experiences and tips written on them (like a present day blog) over the years. Many years ago I read one entry of one trekker who got lost near the forests of Rimbik at night and encountered a colony of Yetis! Or even hang out in the many backpacker cafes below the Youth Hostel and leave messages there for people to join you. Usually, you can find some people who will respond. There are many small inexpensive trekking offices dotting town proper as well where I guess you can walk in and enquire. You can miss them some of them near Chowrasta or those below Clubside motorstand as they are in prominent locations.

I think that Deepsea is in Spain. He must be spending 6 months there and 6 monhts in Darjeeling. I think that the travel agency Himalaya Voyages is being handled by Ajay.

Am in Darjeeling at the moment. Have been in Kullu valley in Himachal and then here in Sandakphu Phalut on a trek. Good weather and great views ... lots of lali guras flowering and wild orchids too ... but now l;ousy weather here.... seems like monsoon ... lots of rain ....as always water scarcity ....but atleast this time the municipality is distributing water with tankers twice a week ... apart from all that Darj is still much the same. MLA polls next month ... seems like Pranay Rai " Baggy Pranay " will get the GNLF ticket.

HI PARA .... U MUST BE THRILLED WITH GUNNERS PREVAILING OVER VILLAREAL. SEEMS LIKE GUNNERS WILL BE UP AGAINST BARCA IN PARIS... WILL CATCH UP WITH U ON THAT !!!!!

SURE I CAN HELP WITH THE TREK TOUR QUERRIES U HAVE. CAN U SEND ME THE RESPECTIVE EMAILS ?
